FinaliÅŸtii pentru scriitură la Ellies ’08
Săptămâna trecută s-au anunțat nominalizările pentru Ellies, premiile anuale acordate de asociația americană a editorilor de revistă (American Society of Magazine Editors). Ca și Oscarurile, Ellies-urile au o gramadă de premii – de la design la fotografie la cea mai bună secțiune la cea mai bună revistă în categoria ei (categorie determinată în funcție de tiraj).
Ce mă interesează pe mine sunt însă cele trei categorii principale de scriitură. Nominalizările mai jos:
REPORTING
This category recognizes excellence in reporting. It honors the enterprise, exclusive reporting and intelligent analysis that a magazine exhibits in covering an event, a situation or a problem of contemporary interest and significance.

FEATURE WRITING
This category recognizes excellence in feature writing. It honors the stylishness and originality with which the author treats his or her subject.
- Atlanta: You Have Thousands of Angels Around You, Paige Williams.
- GQ: Underworld, Jeanne Marie Laskas.
- New York: Everybody Sucks, Vanessa Grigoriadis.
- The New Yorker: Swingers, Ian Parker.
- Vanity Fair: Gone Like The Wind, Buzz Bissinger.
PROFILE WRITING
This category recognizes excellence in profile writing. It honors the vividness and perceptiveness with which the writer brings his or her subject to life.

- Los Angeles: Casualties of War, Steve Oney.
- The New Yorker: Azzam the American, Raffi Khatchadourian.
